Associate required for leading UK Growth Market Private Equity firm.
One of the UK’s leading Private Equity firms, currently investing their latest 1.5bn fund, now requires an Investment Manager to support their generalist team.
The firm has an outstanding pedigree of investing in expanding UK & Irish businesses, that are led by innovative, creative and driven management teams. They have invested in many companies that have grown to become household names in the Consumer / Retail sector; fast-growing and disruptive Technology companies; flexible and dynamic Business Services firms as well as long established, traditional businesses that hadn’t realised their true potential.
Supporting the Directors, you will be involved in Origination and sourcing new investment ideas, conducting market analysis, peer to peer comparables, preparing market segmentation reports etc. You will liaise with a broad range of brokers, corporate finance boutiques, lawyers, accountants and advisors on deal issues, broadening your network in the process. Your analysis will be integral in presenting ideas to the investment committee, so strong financial modelling skills are essential and will be tested in the interview process.
You will also have significant Portfolio Management responsibilities, working alongside the Director who will typically have a board seat, you will be involved in ensuring that board strategy is implemented and adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extensive financial modelling to analyse potential investments
- Conducting due diligence in order to assess the viability of investments
- Working on all aspects of the deal from origination through to execution.
- Working closely with the management team from within the portfolio company in order to maximise the return on investment
Your profile:
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline,
- An MBA is highly desirable although not essential
- 4+ years in either UK Private Equity or Investment Banking with significant deal experience.
- Astute commercial awareness and the ability to go beyond the numbers in assessing a company
- Outstanding communication and relationship management skills
