We are partnering with a leading long/short equity hedge fund to recruit an Equity Research Associate/Analyst to join their investment team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Portfolio Managers and senior analysts in a high-conviction, fundamentals-driven environment.

The fund operates a generalist coverage model, providing exposure across multiple sectors—technology, consumer, industrials, healthcare, financials, and more. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, intellectually curious, and excited to generate differentiated insights in a fast-paced buy-side setting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct fundamental bottom-up research on companies across multiple sectors (generalist coverage)
* Build and maintain detailed financial models, forecasts, and valuation frameworks
* Analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, and key drivers influencing company performance
* Support idea generation by identifying mispriced securities, catalysts, and risk factors
* Prepare written investment theses, presentations, and updates for internal discussions
* Participate in management calls, expert consultations, conferences, and sell-side interactions
* Monitor portfolio positions and update models/estimates based on new data and news flow
* Contribute to risk analysis, scenario modeling, and overall portfolio construction discussions
* Develop highly informed, independent views backed by rigorous research and clear reasoning

Requirements:

* Strong academic background in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
* CFA designation or progress is a plus, but not required
* 1-4 years of experience in investment banking, equity research, private equity, Hedge Funds, or management consulting
* Strong understanding of financial statements, unit economics, and valuation techniques
* Ability to build and maintain full financial models (3-statement, DCF, comps, scenario analysis)
* Strong interest in public markets, fundamental investing, and equity research
* Demonstrated ability to form independent views and articulate a clear investment thesis
* High degree of intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and comfort operating in fast-moving environments
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
