Job Overview
Our Private Equity Fund Services team is seeking to add a Senior Associate to their team.
Baker Tilly’s private equity fund services (PEFS) group provides comprehensive fund administration services including fund accounting, financial reporting, waterfall administration, capital event management, investor relations, treasury services, and general back-office consulting for investment firms.
Responsibilities:
* Record daily journal entries and review cash reporting
* Assist in the preparation of periodic reporting packages (monthly, quarterly and/or annual, as required), including schedules to support the general ledger balances for management approval
* Assist in the preparation of periodic (monthly, quarterly and/or annual, as required) financial statements for management approval
* Assist in the calculation of management fees owed to the management company for investment/portfolio management services provided to the fund
* Prepare quarterly investor capital statements for management approval
* Prepare capital call calculations and notices to the investors for management approval, upload the notices to the investor portal, and monitor the receipt of funds
* Prepare distribution calculation and notices to investors for management approval, upload the notices to the investor portal, and monitor the bank transfers
* Prepare and review correspondence with client investors to address inquiries, as needed
* Work with the auditors and provide them with reports/support to assist them during audit
* Manage client investor portals
* Coordinate and complete special projects, as directed by the management
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* BA/BS in Accounting or related field required
* CPA license (or in process) preferred
* 3+ years of experience with a public accounting firm, investment bank, or the financial services industry (or general interest in supporting private equity fund operations and accounting)
* Strong research and analytical skills
* Current knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
* Strong organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work both in team environment and independently
* Eagerness to learn
* Strong work ethic
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines
* Knowledge of Investran or other partnership accounting software a plus
* Able to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and verbal communication with current and potential clients
* Excellent communication, time management, planning, and problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask required
