Bow River Capital is a multi-strategy alternative asset management company founded in 2003 and based in Denver, Colorado. In 2017, Bow River raised its fourth lower middle market focused buyout fund with $262 million of capital commitments. Bow River’s buyout fund team is searching for a Business Development Associate who will help to lead our deal origination efforts.

Bow River seeks to partner with management teams and founders with a demonstrated track record of success. We invest in promising lower middle market companies across the U.S. Rocky Mountains, Midwest, Southwest, and Canada which forms a geographic area we refer to as Bow River Capital’s Rodeo Region. The firm’s investment team has provided operating and financial expertise to lower middle market companies across a broad range of industries with a primary focus on “asset light” service companies with EBITDA of $3-15 million.

Responsibilities

Leverage Bow River’s robust database of investment banks, boutique bankers, business brokers and other intermediaries as sources for quality deal flow
Develop and expand Bow River’s deal origination network and exposure within the intermediary community
Efficiently manage the buyout team’s participation in the sourcing process, including conference attendance and intermediary meetings in select geographies
Manage our internal deal flow process for sourcing and evaluating potential platform and add-on investment opportunities
Responsible for maintaining and updating Bow River’s sourcing CRM
Evaluate new technologies that can be utilized within the sourcing infrastructure
Implement a continual improvement process within our deal origination methodology
Be the “face” of the firm and attend industry events and conferences
Develop and expand Bow River’s proprietary outreach for sourcing direct deals
Other duties and projects as may be assigned

Ideal Profile

Driven, innovative self-starter, tenacious “hunter” with at least four years of business experience
Ideal candidate will have deal sourcing and/or private equity/investment banking/corp dev business development experience
Possesses sufficient business acumen to assess investment opportunities
Well organized, maintains follow through with intermediaries
Strong character, high EQ, relationship builder, professional, highly regarded by peers and be a continuous learner
Desire to build a career in business development within the private equity industry
