Our client is a top tier U.S. based Fund of PE Funds Investment Manager with over US$40bn in AUM. They are looking for an Associate to VP level candidate with Fund of Funds investment experience to join their team in HK. The ideal candidate will have a strong network with LPs and GPs in Mainland China.
Requirements
* 4 to 8 years’ relevant experience in private equity, accounting, investment banking, consulting, asset management, or similar fields; 2 to 4 years of fund investing experience
* Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or related field, with a record of high academic achievement
* Strong interest in investments and the capital markets
* Strong quantitative and analytical skills
* Ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to proactively take on tasks and work independently within broad policies
* Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion
* Ability to lead a due diligence process and manage and direct supporting Investment Analysts
* Excellent understanding of accounting and financial analysis
* Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications.
* Ability to travel to US office for training and outside of Hong Kong for onsite diligence

* Willingness to contribute to all aspects of the development and running of the Hong Kong office over the long term
* Willingness to undertake further education to gain CFA and/or MBA qualifications
* Strong interpersonal, communication/presentation, and writing skills in English; fluency in Mandarin is a must
* Ability to manage and direct local resources and assist in the managing of the Hong Kong office
Responsibilities:
New investments
* Performing analysis and due diligence on investment opportunities primarily in Asia, (and to a
* lesser extent, opportunities in the U.S. and Europe)
* Attending due diligence meetings with fund managers, including on-site visits
* Performing in-depth quantitative analysis on fund managers’ investment records
* Conducting financial analysis and valuation of portfolio companies
* Conducting reference calls (not limited to Asian partnerships)
* Presenting new deal opportunities to the firm’s investment committee
* Maintaining databases and files to support the investment process
* Preparing investment analysis reports
* Assisting in the mapping of the fund manager market in Asia
* Assisting in managing new deal work flow in Asia
* Building relationships with fund managers, intermediaries, and placement agents
Investment Monitoring
* Monitoring partnership/client portfolio performance (not limited to partnerships in Asia)
* Reviewing/preparing quarterly performance analysis of partnerships including capital account reconciliations
* Reviewing/conducting quarterly performance analysis of underlying portfolio companies
* Reviewing/reconciling cash flow data to partnership accounts
* Reviewing/reporting significant changes within client portfolios
* Maintaining databases that track performance
* Attending fund manager update/annual meetings
* Producing fund manager updates to be distributed within firm
