A leading hedge fund located in the Boston area is actively seeking an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer who wants to take on leadership responsibilities. This opportunity has the potential to become a Lead Java Software Engineer role. At the same time, this position is within the firm’s Trading team, which focuses on developing a trading platform that is a critical piece for the firm’s daily investment and trade.
As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing and building this trading platform using the latest cutting edge technologies. The ideal candidate for this role will have expertise in Java and must feel comfortable using Relational Database, as most of the development would be back-end.

General Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of professional hands-on Java software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Relational Database or other database technologies, such as Oracle and SQL.
- Knowledge of Spring framework.
- Knowledge of Messaging technologies, such as XML.
- Excellent communications skills and work ethics.
- Ability to identify business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Good leadership skills.
- Desire to learn new technologies and acquire new skills.
- Passion for coding.
- Previous financial experience is preferred yet not required for this role.
