We represent a top 5 hedge fund based in Stamford, CT ($10B AUM), whom is aggressively hiring top-rated and highly motivated Investment Banking Analysts to join their team in the role of Junior Portfolio Analyst. There is an immediate need for an ambitious Junior Portfolio Analyst with a strong background in Healthcare (particularly medical technology, medical manufacturing, and biotech). The successful candidate will be reporting to an established Portfolio Manager at the fund.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a jump to the buy-side by joining one of the premier hedge funds on Wall Street. Successful candidates will be expected to complete a rigorous interview process that will involve an Excel modeling test, case study, and stock pitch.
Individuals joining this firm should have a deep interest in the healthcare markets and superior knowledge of companies in the key sub-sectors mentioned. Candidates must have exceptional financial valuation and technical modeling skills, the ability to think quickly and creatively on their feet and should be prepared to take a high-pressure role early in their careers as this group will offer the ability to recommend and act on attractive investment opportunities.
Responsibilities include conducting deep company and industry research, performing direct and in-person (as appropriate) due diligence & valuation, building and maintaining complex financial models, and validating, justifying, and challenging investment theses. The Junior Portfolio Analyst will be an integral contributor to overall portfolio strategy through active debate and intellectual exchange.
Candidate should be ready to run with projects independently, be highly proactive and productive, demonstrate exceptional project and time management skills, possess a strong intellect (and intellectual curiosity), and have a deep drive to bring their best every day. This individual should be able to form effective working relationships with his or her colleagues both up and down.

Basic Qualifications: The ideal profile will include the following qualifications and credentials:
- GPA of 3.5 and above.
- Quantitative mindset and demonstrated interest in investing.
- Outstanding financial modeling, analytical, and research skills.
- Uncompromising work ethic, enthusiasm, diligence, and motivation.
- Understanding of the principles and application of portfolio management theory, corporate valuation, general finance & accounting.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently a first- or second-year Investment Banking Analyst at a bulge bracket institution.
- Undergraduate degree from a top institution with coursework in Finance or Economics.
