Our client is a growing real estate investment firm focused on multi-unit residential and hotel redevelopment projects throughout Ontario. With over $1B in total sales value to date and a substantive volume of completed investments and pipeline projects, the fund offers investors the opportunity to invest in a highly lucrative, yet highly secured, portfolio of real property in a tax efficient manner.
The firm is currently looking for a Vice President, Capital Raising to drive capital raising activities to expand the firm’s high net worth investor base. This will include lead sourcing and initial outreach, presenting the firm’s strategy and investment opportunity to potential investors, responding to investor due diligence requests, and supporting the preparation of marketing and communication materials.
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in fundraising, client wealth management or consultant relations, and a deep knowledge of issues facing high net worth investors and family offices. A substantive track record in relationship management or business development representing alternative products and strategies is an asset. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and strategic individual to take on a highly impactful role in driving the growth in a well-positioned investment firm.
Responsibilities:
* Market the full suite of the firm’s strategies to high net worth and family office clients and prospects and act to maintain and developing those relationships
* Develop and manage investment consultant relationships
* Work to develop and execute a business plan with measurable, achievable, results-oriented goals focused on raising capital from existing clients and new prospects
* Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key decision makers and influencers within each client/prospect organisation and work in a consultative, solutions-based manner to build trust and drive results
* Respond to inbound requests for information and meetings and diligence requests
* Support the creation of thought pieces and marketing materials
* Maintain a strong knowledge of industry trends and share insight gained from investors with internal stakeholders in an effort to position the broader group for success and to aid in new product development initiatives
Qualifications:
* Undergraduate degree, preferably in Commerce, Finance or Economics; additional credentials including MBA and/or CFA considered an asset
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in any of the following disciplines: fundraising, client wealth management or consultant relations
* Familiarity with real assets and/or alternative assets a benefit
* Proven track record of successful high net worth and/or family office fundraising and/or relationship management
* Team-oriented; demonstrates a commitment to shared success above any personal accomplishment or recognition
