A women founded Venture Capital firm based out of Midwest is strategically looking to make an addition to their team. They specialize in the consumer & retail sectors and help guide brands with over $5 billion in global sales reach their optimal potential. They’re currently investing out of their second fund, which is a several million dollar vehicle used to invest in companies that have a direct impact to our fundamental human needs. The team is very lean in size, which means that you will execute your own book of investments while being a key part of team’s growth plans.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct industry research and due diligence to identify potential investment opportunities
* Lead deal sourcing efforts and develop relationships with investment bankers, business brokers, and other intermediaries
* Perform financial analysis and modeling to evaluate investment opportunities
* Develop investment theses and present recommendations to the investment committee
* Oversee due diligence efforts, including coordinating with legal, accounting, and other external advisors
* Assist with transaction structuring and negotiating deal terms
* Develop and execute value creation plans for portfolio companies, including identifying operational improvements and strategic initiatives
* Monitor portfolio company’s performance and reporting on financial and operational metrics to senior leadership
* Lead exit planning and execution efforts, including preparing companies for sale and negotiating sale terms

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
* MBA not required, but is still beneficial
* 5-7 years of experience in private equity or investment banking
* Demonstrated track record of successful investments and value creation
* Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, portfolio company management teams, and external advisors
* Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Spanish speaking is a plus
* High growth start-up experience
