We are actively searching for a Senior Associate (Tax and Accounting) for one of our clients that is a growing private equity firm located in the Greater San Diego area. Position will be responsible for various accounting and tax related functions for the firm as well as their portfolio companies.

* Maintain GAAP general ledgers and assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting calculations.
* Technical application on a variety of buy and sell side transactions including deferred tax calculations, adjustments to provisions resulting from purchase transactions, and tax structuring projects.
* Review tax returns for accuracy and identification of tax savings opportunities and tax exposures.
* Involvement in evaluating the tax implications of a fund investment from a strategic point.
* Work with outside counsel and consultants in assuring the accuracy of any necessary tax research.
* Assist in gathering information for audit requests during the annual audit.
* Manage compliance and pay close attention to the firm’s exposure.
* Assist with accounting close procedures and ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and controls.
* Interact directly with our team and portfolio companies.
* Assist in the preparation of various regulatory compliance filings.

Ideal candidate will have 4+ years of public accounting experience with a solid understanding of tax. Experience with all types of business entities (C-corporations, S-corporations, Partnerships) and related structuring and planning. Candidate must have the ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills under tight deadlines. Successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and have strong written and verbal communication skills. CPA required. Master’s degree in tax a plus. Bachelor’s degree required.
