About Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital

Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital is a growth investing platform with $1Bn of AUM across dedicated Equity and Credit funds. The team targets $20-40M equity and credit investments in high growth, capital efficient companies across all sectors, with a focus on the technology, consumer and healthcare verticals, primarily in North America and Western Europe. Investments include first institutional, growth carve-out, founder liquidity, secondary and follow-on opportunities. Expansion Capital’s ability to invest across the capital structure, and its connectivity to a leading global brand, is unique within the late-stage investing universe.

Responsibilities:

Associates on our platform will be trained to evaluate opportunities across the entire capital structure, including Equity and Debt.

The responsibilities of the position include:
* Sourcing new investment opportunities by representing Expansion Capital in networking, sourcing, and other externally facing capacities
* Performing due diligence on investment opportunities, including financial modeling, industry research, market research, and developing a deep understanding of customers and competition
* Working with companies post-investment, including involvement in Board meetings

This position is typically a 2-3 year role, with Associates moving to either other investment, corporate development, or operating roles. However, this opportunity does have the potential to evolve into a partner-track role for high performing analysts and associates.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting or related discipline preferred
* Superior academic and performance record
* 1-4 years of experience from a leading investment banking analyst program, or a private investing platform
* Ability to evaluate opportunities across all industries and throughout the capital structure
* Strong knowledge of accounting, and financial statement analysis
* Maturity to operate both independently and as part of a team, and work directly with founders and management teams of companies
* Excellent written, and verbal presentation skills
