Details

Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners (“MSIP”) is the global private infrastructure investing platform sponsored by Morgan Stanley. MSIP manages three flagship private equity-type funds within the Real Assets platform of Morgan Stanley Investment Management (“MSIM”). MSIP (and MSIM as a whole) operates entirely independently from the investment banking business of Morgan Stanley.

Founded in 2006, MSIP is a global leader in private infrastructure equity investing, targeting assets that provide essential public goods and services primarily located in OECD countries, with the potential for value creation through active management. With a diverse team of over 40 investment professionals across 9 offices in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, MSIP leverages a global network of relationships to source investments in sectors such as power generation & utilities, transportation, digital, and natural gas infrastructure. Spanning its three global funds, since inception, MSIP has had $13.1 billion of capital commitments. In January 2020, MSIP closed its third global infrastructure fund, North Haven Infrastructure Partners III, with $5.5 billion of capital commitments. MSIP’s investors include some of the largest and most sophisticated pension, sovereign wealth and insurance companies across the globe. External parties accounted for 97% of the capital raised in Fund III alongside significant contributions from senior members of the investment team.

The MSIP platform has over 100 professionals and over 40 dedicated investment professionals. The team is led by its Managing Directors, with an average industry experience of over 20 years, each of which are members of the Investment Committee. MSIP seeks to create value for its investors by using the team’s global network of relationships to source proprietary investment opportunities and by working closely with portfolio company management to identify and implement operational improvements and value creation initiatives. Such opportunities, which MSIP will seek to access on an off-market basis, may include corporate carve-outs, privatizations, undermanaged assets, assets with the potential for growth and select greenfield assets.
