RRJ Capital is an Asian investment firm which focuses on private equity investments in China and South-East Asia. The firm was founded by Richard Ong. Richard was the President of Goldman Sachs Singapore, then he was Partner and Co-Head Asia Ex Japan Investment Banking and a member of Goldman Sachs Asian Management Committee based in Beijing. In 2008, Richard was founder and CEO of HOPU Fund, a US$2.5 billion private equity fund in Beijing.

Founded in 2011, RRJ currently has a team of almost 30 professionals based in Hong Kong and Singapore. The senior investment team has strong experience in energy, healthcare and finance.

The firm closed its first fund in June 2011 with commitments of USD 2.3 billion and its second fund with commitments of USD 3.6 billion in April 2013.
