Our client is a PE arm of an Europe’s leading electricity producer with a growing presence in the natural gas. Their headquarters are based in London and it has approximately 1,000 employees with offices in the UK, Europe, Asia, the United States and Canada.
A 5bn RMB fund dedicated to renewable energy and energy efficiency investments in China is offering a rare opportunity to join [/to lead] its business development team.
Job Description
Our client is of the most reputable global energy platforms has established their PE arm in China. Our client has partnership with many investment companies as well as corporate in the energy industry for resources.
They are looking for a senior member with deal sourcing and project leading abilities and experience.

The Successful Applicant
Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate and execute investment opportunities in renewable energy (solar, wind, distributed or utility-scale)and energy efficiency
- Manage the due diligence process to identify the project and transaction risks as well as the project/transaction value drivers
- Interact with the Fund’s technical advisors
- Supervise complex financial models
- Presentation of investment opportunities to the Investment Committee
- Actively work with the portfolio companies post investment
Candidate:
- In depth experience in the Renewable Energy / Energy Efficiency space in a similar business development role, most likely gained within an infrastructure fund or a project developer
- Extensive network in the Renewable Energy / Energy Efficiency space in China
- Exceptional financial competence, with the ability to structure and close investments (equity and mezzanine debt). This includes the ability to put in place complex transaction and financial documentation (shareholder agreement, funding agreements, O&M subcontracts, etc)
- Chinese as a mother tongue and fluent in English
- Proven commercial and business skills
- Technical knowledge of the wind power, solar power and energy efficiency technologies would be a plus
