About the Job

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Manager, Finance will be responsible for fund operations and the private reporting needs of Brookfield’s Private Equity group.

Responsibilities:

* Review quarterly reporting to the investors and other users, including financial statements prepared under US GAAP and fund and investment performance tracking
* Review and prepare public reporting templates prepared in accordance with IFRS
* Prepare public reporting templates comprised of metrics used in Brookfield Asset Management’s asset management reporting
* Review of investor PCAP and available commitment schedules on a quarterly basis
* Presentation of quarterly results to the senior management
* Work with various service providers to ensure information being provided to the investors is accurate and provided in a timely basis
* Review valuations of fund investments on a quarterly basis
* Review of accounting packages for individual legal entities, including review of tax financials
* Prepare internal and external audit requests and maintain appropriate control documentation
* Work closely with the fund administrators to provide them with the details of what to include in capital calls from and distributions to the investors, and ensure this is done on a timely basis
* Assist with managing fund operations, including investment closes, investor queries, forecasting and compliance
* Assist with analysis of complex accounting issues that arise
* Assist with process improvements to the reporting process
* Special projects and ad-hoc requests as required

Requirements:

* University degree
* Professional accounting designation (CPA/CA preferred)
* Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in finance and/or accounting functions
* Experience in private funds and knowledge of the investment management industry
* Experience dealing with complex ownership structures would be an asset
* Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative
* Excellent analytical, and problem-solving abilities
* Exemplifies the right motivation by aspiring to achieve collective goals
* Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, to adapt quickly and to manage changing priorities
* Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
* Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel
* Self-motivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
* Thorough understanding of the legal structure of the various funds and the related impact on funds flows and consolidation
* Superior communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
