Scope

To continue building OGE, OMERS seeks to recruit an Associate to complement its existing team. This role will be spending a majority of time in the healthcare end market. The position will be based at OMERS’ head office in Toronto, Ontario and will require the ability to travel.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct research on investment themes including determining addressable markets, expected growth rates and the competitive landscape
* Deal structuring using key insights from industry and company analysis, developing financial models, and providing support in due diligence and structuring of partnership opportunities
* Review quarterly and annual board packages, reports, and other financial and industry data to understand and assess the performance of our partners
* Your allocation of time to the foregoing responsibilities will vary greatly at any one time but over a 12-month period, we would expect that you would spend roughly (#1) 25% on research, (#2) 50% on deal structuring and due diligence, and (#3) 25% on review and asset management.

Qualifications:

* 2+ years experience as an investor, investment banker, consultant, advisor and/or operational experience at a high growth company
* Healthcare industry experience / affinity is an asset
* Intellectually curious and have a long investment horizon
* Demonstrated career and academic success
* Strong work ethic
* Solid understanding of fundamental investment analysis, business valuation theory and techniques
* Advanced Excel modeling skills
* Demonstrate attention to detail and strong analytical skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to balance competing priorities
* Commitment to stay current on a variety of topics related to the investment themes being explored
* Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a team environment
* Thrive in organisations that constantly evolve and adapt while working with ambiguity at times
* Driven to achieving results and continuously striving to deliver the highest performance through creative thinking
