Job Description
The Venture Capital Associate will wear many hats for the organisation. Each day is likely to be different and possibly unplannable. Likely duties will include:-
Financial modelling
Investment target research
Due diligence – commercial, operational and financial
Potentially some portfolio management
Client problem resolution and management
Supporting the rest of the team in the office
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for this role as a Venture Capital Associate must have buy-side and sell-side experience. However the amount of time spent in each is immaterial. What is crucial is that they have closed multiple deals previously and feel comfortable with the process of doing so. Here are some skills that must be present on their CV in order for them to make it out of the initial screening process.
First class education from a top ranked university – country irrelevant
Minimum 4 years deal focused experience – management consulting, investment banking, PE/VC
Sound commercial understanding of investment activities
Quality research and project background
Financial modelling experience is non-negotiable
Experience of the consumer market in South East Asia
An understanding of small office culture would be favourable
