Analyst – Investment Development

Turn/River Capital | San Francisco, CA

Job Summary

Private equity firm. Find and connect with interesting companies and their CEOs that fit within the firm’s target profile. Undergraduate degree from a top school, with demonstrated strong academic performance. Work experience in Sales or Web Marketing.

Details

Turn/River Capital is a technology focused private equity firm with nearly $100M under management, based in San Francisco. Investment banking backgrounds are nice, but not necessary on our team. Instead, we are looking for people with operational backgrounds in software, SaaS, or technology in general, be that marketing, product management, engineering or data science, and we will work together to help you become an investor sourcing specialist.

We started Turn/River because we see the emergence of a new breed of web company – bootstrapped, extremely lean, often profitable, usually SaaS, operating almost entirely online. We think these companies are, in a strange way, a tough fit for the existing financial players: too capital efficient for venture capital, too small for traditional private equity and too messy for strategic buyers. Turn/River was built specifically to fill this gap.

Turn/River specializes in growth capital investments, founder liquidity, buyouts, spin-outs, recapitalizations of small-scale technology, web and SaaS companies. Our strategy is to combine capital with data-driven marketing, sales optimization, and operational execution to help companies double or triple their growth, and build value for everyone.

As such, we believe that operators make the best investors. We are looking to fill our team with people that have started their careers in the real world, helping technology companies grow. If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities:

Find and connect with interesting companies and their CEOs that fit within our target profile
Qualify companies during an initial phone screening to see if they will enter our due diligence process (You will develop understanding of their customers, sales process, lead generation, churn, product positioning, team and market)
Participate actively in and provide feedback around the team’s sourcing process, technologies, and positioning through the exploration of various A/B testing opportunities, and various marketing, sales, and growth hacker best practices

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree from a top school, with demonstrated strong academic performance
Work experience in Sales or Web Marketing
Interest and ability to acquire proficiency with sales technology tools
Excel in building strong relationships
Avid self-learner
Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with extreme attention to detail
