Details
Accountants One has been retained by a private equity firm to help them identify and hire a VP of Finance over two of their portfolio companies located in Charlotte, NC. The combined companies have approximately $50 million in revenue.
This is an incredible opportunity for someone at the right juncture of their career to really improve their resume by adding M&A experience and experience working for/with a private equity owner. This is not only a job for someone that is open to challenges but is best suited for someone that thrives on tackling challenges. This is a role that offers a great chance to shine and make a considerable impact.
The successful candidate will have a mix of public accounting experience out of college and corporate/industry accounting with small to mid-size companies. The successful candidate will enjoy the challenge of improving the accounting policies, procedures and thought-processes of an almost 40-year old company. The company is going live on a new ERP system (NetSuite) in late April that will offer a lot of opportunities to automate processes that have previously been handled manually. This is an outstanding opportunity to work for a Managing Director of the private equity firm (I.e., David McNeill, also President of PSSR LLC) that is looking to complement the management team for these two companies, but also presents the potential longer-term opportunity to work on other portfolio challenges in the future.
The ideal candidate is hungry, humble and smart. Hungry in that he or she is ready to proactively take on new challenges and pitch in as needed based on the demands of the business. Humble in that he or she is confident enough to say “I don’t know” when that is the case, ask for help when needed and give credit to others. Smart in an emotional way in that their interactions lift others up and inspire them to be better members of our team.
