Assure Services (“Assure”) is a private equity advisory firm working with clients throughout the US and internationally. Assure provides a full suite of back office services to private equity fund managers, fund of funds and equity crowdfunding platforms. Assure is currently the back office engine for over 70% of transactions generated from US equity crowdfunding platforms. Specifically, Assure establishes and manages the investment vehicles needed for venture capital funds and high net worth individuals to invest in startups, real estate, secondaries, film and art throughout the US and internationally. Assure participated in over 500 transactions last year. Some of Assure’s clients are AngelList (angel.co), SeedInvest (www.seedinvest.com), EquityZen (equityzen.com), www.realtyshares.com and Arthena (www.arthena.co). Assure also provides consulting, CFO, compliance, analytics and other specialized back office services to clients like Scale Ventures, TVV Capital, iCapEquity and Mansa. Position Summary

This position will lead the finance and administration team with additional oversight of the fund accounting team.

Controller will manage the financial day-to-day activities of Assure through AR/AP processes, managing budgets, and tracking fund expenses. Also, oversee the attainment of short- and long-term financial and operational goals for Assure. The controller will assist with the development of the organization, evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures and recommend changes when necessary while assisting in implementation of new processes. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

The controller, as lead over the finance and administration team, will also be responsible for oversight of Assure’s outsourced CFO service through the training of team members, review and approval of client deliverables, mainly GAAP financial statements, cash flows, performance returns, capital account statements, and capital calls.

The controller typically works during regular business hours, although additional work may be necessary during busy season and quarter end.

Responsibilities

* Supervise and manage all internal accounting, reporting, administration and financial functions, including clients with complex structures including blockers, partnerships, LLC, syndicates, pro-rata, real estate and other debt structures with various state, national and international requirements.

* Manage and prepare internal monthly financial statements, annual budgets, cash flow forecasting and other financial reporting as required.

* Manage accounting staff including, 1 accountant, 1 accounting assistant, 1 bookkeepers

* Establish and maintain timelines of financial reporting to clients

* Supervise and approve all out going quarterly and annual financial reports making sure they are GAAP compliant and consistent with the Private Equity Industry Standards

* Supervise Salesforce updates regarding various CFO clients

* Develop internal models and projections for executive team

* Oversight and management of financial/accounting systems: financial control, variance analysis, expense control, forecasting, revenues and expense monitoring.

* Leads annual budgeting process; integrates budget with Strategic Plan and Business Plan goals.

* Monitor specific budgets, controlling costs where possible

* Supervise bank accounts and reconciliations

* Must have good written and verbal communications skills with the ability to explain financial information to staff and executive team

* Demonstrated skills in planning, time management, flexibility, organization and independent work proficiency

* Must be able to maintain confidentiality

Experience Requirements

• Public accounting audit experience

• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and financial experience

• Advanced degree in Accounting

• CPA required

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

• Computer Proficiencies: Ability to effectively use a computer for word processing, spreadsheets research, and budgeting. Strong knowledge and ability to work within various databases and payroll systems, familiarity with QuickBooks
