The Carlyle Group is a global alternative asset management firm established in 1987. The firm has more than 600 investment professionals operating out of its offices in Washington DC, Barcelona, Beijing, Beirut, Charlotte – North Carolina, Chengdu – China, Dubai, Hong Kong, Houston, Istanbul, Johannesburg, Lagos, London, Los Angeles, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, Mumbai, Munich, New York, Paris, Rosslyn – Virginia, São Paulo, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney and Tokyo.

As of end of December 2011, the firm manages USD 147 billion in asset under management. Carlyle has 89 funds and 49 funds of funds vehicles investing in Corporate Private Equity, Real Assets, Fund of Funds Solutions and Global Market Strategies. The Fund of Funds Solutions was established when it acquired AlpInvest Partners B.V. on July, 2011.
