My client is a quantitative proprietary trading firm based in New York, they are an industry leading trading and technology firm with an extremely competitive electronic market making operation.
They are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer with substantial experience working on large systems , processing and storing large amounts of data.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, fault-tolerant and scalable big-data system capable of crunching billion records per-day from hundreds of sources.
- Build an easy to use querying layer on top of the data system.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build a big data system from scratch and to be the architect for the entire system.
Requirements
- 4 + years of professional software development experience with C++ (preferred), C, Java, or C#.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Strong competences in software design, data structures and algorithms.
- Experience using or managing MongoDB or Hadoop.
- Linux system administration and scripting.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Expert C/C++ object-oriented low level technical skills.
- CS or EE educational background from a top institution.
- Knowledge of Python or Perl and shell scripts.
