The Risk Analyst will be part of the Risk Management team. The Fund is a multi-manager diversified fundamentals driven market neutral equity long/short fund with a long term investment horizon. Currently focused on US equities, the fund has the mandate to expand in to global equities and other asset classes. The role will reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer of the Fund.
The candidate will get involved in building portfolio analytics and risk measurement methods, using factor models, building and using portfolio optimization tools, building and tracking risk and performance metrics, building custom analytics and reporting, and evaluating portfolio performance against hypothetical market scenarios.
Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate for this role will have an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as physics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, etc., or an undergraduate degree in a quantitative field combined with a graduate degree in economics, business or finance.
As a guideline, the candidate will have at least 5-8+ years of combined experience in risk management, building portfolio analytics and/or trading. Exceptional candidates with less experience will of course be considered.
The candidate will have knowledge of and experience in US and global equities markets, equities derivatives, futures and commodities.
The candidate will possess adequate experience and skills in programming, allowing her/him to work independently with scripting languages, SQL, Bloomberg, Matlab/Python and statistical software packages.
The desired candidate is someone who will enjoy working in a small team with close interaction and collaboration with investment and technology teams, and the operations team as well. The candidate must be a clear and independent thinker and be able articulate her/his thoughts clearly and concisely. The candidate must be driven and self-motivated and able to work as part of a team with career goals and ambitions well beyond the current role.
