My client is a hedge fund still in the start-up phase and they are looking for a strong Java quant developer with strong experience to work in their core technology team. Their objectives are to design and develop pricing tools for strategists and the trading desks. The successful candidate will work in a great environment with fantastic financial rewards and future prospects.
Key Skills & Background
- You will be expected to demonstrate advanced server-side Core Java skills, preferably 2+ years commercial experience.
- Multithreading is a must as the platform will be highly concurrent.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Distributed systems experience will be a key differentiator.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic design patterns.
Secondary Skills
- Scala development experience.
- Agile experience – the team work in an agile environment.
About the Role
- You must be able to work collaboratively with the local and extended global team.
- You will take the initiative to solve problems to deliver the required functionality including both tactical and strategic initiatives.
- You will be required to work with the trading desk and strategists to help define requirements, specifications as well as the implementation.
- You will be required to collaborate with other developers in designing the new platform.
