Our client, a leading alternative asset manager, is seeking a Prime Brokerage & Trading Counsel to join the team. The role reports into the General Counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Legal review and negotiation of trading and banking documentation with bank counterparties.
- Co-ordination, implementation and execution of legal trading agreements for internal clients.
- Working closely with the bank counterparties on processes and procedures that are used to launch and operate the relevant funds.
- Ensuring requirements of Dodd-Frank, EMIR and other recent regulations are negotiated and completed for the funds.
- Effective communication with multiple external and internal managers and third-party service providers.
- Working closely with the business side.
- Assume leadership role in the establishment of new platforms, products and fund jurisdictions.
Experience:
- J.D. from accredited law school.
- Ideally 2 to 5 years law firm experience.
- Interested in the business and capable of dealing with large financial institutions and hedge fund managers.
- Self starter and highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
