The Operation Specialist will be responsible for daily reconciliations, liaising directly with numerous PBs, counterparties and internal departments.
This will include the resolution of trade discrepancies on top day matching and a large array of desk/broker/counterparty trade queries.
There will also be an extensive amount of project work with regard to changing infrastructure and the way the firm supports fixed income trading. Knowledge should include an extensive understanding of the product life cycle of Bond, Repo and FX trading.
Principal Responsibilities
- Mitigating risk by ensuring daily trade / cash / position / market value reconciliations are completed in a timely manner for CFDs, bonds, repos, and fx.
- Interacting with the trading groups and Prime Brokers (PBs).
- Intraday trade monitoring and matching using various platforms, including managing a follow the sun model with CTM and Traiana.
- Settlement and Fails management across bond, repo and FX accounts.
- Running several projects that will change and improve FI infrastructure flow and settlement.
- Cash management between different PBs.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Experience in FICC operations / support / Prime Services / CSR.
- Proficient understanding of Bond, Repo, FX and Equity trade matching and settlements.
- Product knowledge across all financial instruments with emphasis on fixed income product however equities and CFD’s would also be beneficial.
- CTM / Murex / Imagine / TLM / Traiana experience desired.
- Proven track record in implementing and maintaining new systems, procedures and controls.
- Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment and meet strict deadlines.
- Possess high level of detail orientation and ownership of work.
- Excellent mathematical aptitude and analytical skills, including strong excel.
- Good team player with a strong willingness and desire to participate and help others.
