Software Developer (Hedge Fund)

A hedge fund in downtown Boston has just opened up a software development position for a full-time software developer interested in pursuing or continuing a career in financial services. The firm is looking to hire a mid-level developer with at least 3 years of professional work experience in software development using object-oriented programming languages (C#, Python, Java preferred). The team works within a Microsoft stack environment, and will involve designing and building both web-based and desktop applications, supporting the front office trading and portfolio management teams.

Minimum Requirements

*Bachelor’s Degree within a technical field (Computer Science preferred, but open to candidates with a degree in Information Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or Finance)

*Consistent academic performance at a competitive academic institution (Undergrad GPA of or above 3.5)

* At least one year of professional work experience in software development, preferably within a financial services or technology setting, but open to product development backgrounds as well

* Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and principles (C# and MS stack preferred)

*Prior work experience in financial services preferred, but must have an interest in working with the business side (portfolio managers, traders, financial analysts, quantitative researchers)
