My client are a leading Systematic (Quant) Hedge Fund and seeking exceptional Graduates with 0-2 years of experience to join its world-class real-time Engineering Department. Working with Quantitative Research, Trading, Development and High-Performance Computing you will be given full exposure to a fully automated and proprietary algorithmic trading platform.

This is an opportunity to join a global Quantitative Hedge Fund within its Algorithmic and Software Development teams. The fund has a reputation for harnessing some of the strongest IT talent, and is well renowned for its in-house, cutting-edge technology platform.

If you have graduated in the last 2 years or due to graduate from an MSc from a top-tier university with a Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Computing, or related discipline then this is an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the space and join one of the most advanced firms within Quant Trading. You will have the opportunity to work on some incredible projects, developing next generation software that you will see going into production on a daily basis.

During the first 12-24 months of the role you can expect to be given full exposure to many different business areas including Quantitative Research, Trading, Development, High-Performance Computing, Data Analytics and Infrastructure. Working across the company’s technology platform you will truly understand how a trading engine works from front-to-back.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with traders, researchers and developers to articulate and engineer 1st class development solutions.
  • Research, develop and implementation a high quality electronic trading platform.
  • Optimising trading strategy code.
  • Architect the next generation of the development platform, reviewing new technologies and suggesting scalable solutions.
  • Participate in design sessions and code reviews.
  • Work on cross-functional teams.

Desired Skills and Experience

Requirements include:

  • Computer Science, Computing or similar degree from a Top-10 UK University or Top-20 Global Institution.
  • Graduate Degree or Masters Graduate from a top-tier university in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Programming experience in C++ or C# (highly advantageous).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A strong desire to learn.

Desirable:

  • Experience of Coding competitions / Hackathons / CodeJam / etc.
  • Proven open source coding experience – GitHub, Stack, etc.
