Specialised in equities, this hedge fund is experiencing unprecedented year on year growth from 3.5 billion in AUM to a staggering 13 billion in just five years. Through this achievement, the organisation is looking to enhance their IT team with fresh talent.
They are looking for a 1st class Junior/Graduate Developer to join their offices based at their HQ in London. You will be interacting with high ranking stakeholders enabling you to fast track career prospects and be directly recognised for the work you deliver.
Your New Job
The project pipeline has grown largely offering multiple projects and challenges to keep you occupied and interested. Example projects include the development of an operations database, intranet site, and stock reconciliations and AIFMD. Even with this large pipeline, the organisation still retains a relaxed culture that delivers very low levels of attrition people love working there!
Key responsibilities include:
- Build new tools & systems / enhance existing ones, in order to add ever increasing levels of value to the front office investment teams and enhance the level of support that they receive from the support areas of this business.
- You will effectively act as the conduit between the various investment teams and the outsourced service providers (Prime Brokers / Administrators). This position is effectively a control role, ensuring that there are no errors or breaches.
- More specific duties will include, calculation of NAV estimates, ensuring accuracy of NAVs produced by the administrators, trade reconciliations, project work etc.
- Forging a close working relationship with the front office teams, across a variety of asset classes.
What you’ll need to succeed
- You’ll need an excellent track record of academic achievement in the way of a minimum 2.1 degree in computer science or numerical discipline. The ability to learn very quickly here is needed and the company will pay for you to complete a CFA. Other skills include.
- Financial services related work experience either as an intern or with another company but will look at graduates straight from University.
- Strong experience or understanding with VBA, SQL and C#.
- You will possess a can do attitude and a strong work ethic.
