Tower Research Capital LLC, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Global Head of Simulation. We are looking for an experienced software developer to drive Tower’s simulation efforts and manage the development of simulator software.

At Tower, the ability to simulate the performance of trading strategies is a critical part of trading teams’ research workflow. Our ideal candidate will be able to help formulate a vision for designing a world-class simulator. The Global Head of Simulation will join the Core Engineering and Systems team in our New York office and will report directly to the Head of the Research Development.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating with trading teams to understand their business requirements and support requests.
  • Creating actionable plans for support and development.
  • Creating useful modeling abstractions and improving codebase design.
  • Increasing supported exchange coverage.
  • Improving simulator accuracy.
  • Minimizing the impact of changes on existing team workflows.
  • Improving the throughput of simulations on our computing cluster.
  • Managing a global development team.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 10 years of previous work experience in a high-frequency trading environment.
  • Strong software development skills (in C++ and Python.
  • The ability to conceptualize problems and create useful abstractions.
  • Event-based simulation experience.
  • Familiarity with trading strategies.
  • Familiarity with the market data and matching engines of major global exchanges, including CME, EUREX, and NASDAQ.
  • Mindset for constant improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders.
