Fund Accountant

Job Summary

Prepare financial statements for audits; gather information for requests/research questions from auditors. Comfortable with a flat team structure, everyone is called a fund accountant with exception of executives.

Details

The fund accounting team consists of approximately 30 people. You will be responsible for all facets of the fund accountant function and demonstrate strong abilities in the following areas:

• Prepare fund books and unaudited financials, foreign filings, outside partner requests, etc.
• Prepare allocations and bank reconciliations
• Prepare fund tax documents and reports; assist with review of investor tax information reporting
• Prepare financial statements for audits; gather information for requests/research questions from auditors
• Calculate distributions to investors, including interest payable
• Review trading operations’ accruals, reconciliations, fundings / distributions; provide accounting support
• Research investor questions and gather information for investor requests
• Assist with quarterly mark procedures for private equity investments

Key requirements

• Ideally 3+ years out of:
o Public Accounting with clients out of FS (preferably Hedge Funds, PE, VC….)
o Working at competing hedge fund firm.
• Strong GPA and a CPA is preferred.
• Comfortable with a flat team structure, everyone is called a fund accountant with exception of executives. There is still plenty of growth and learning opportunity despite titling. They even do rotations on the funds both Hedge and PE and larger/smaller/complex to ensure that the team is learning and developing and cross-trained. You’ll really hone your portfolio accounting expertise in this role.
