Details

This position has primary responsibility for the monitoring and supporting of trading system applications and exchanges.

The individual in this role will solve complex problems that require both technical and business understanding. The candidate will work with traders, operations, exchanges, and developers to investigate and solve system issues and participate in business analysis.

  • Monitor trading systems and exchange/venues.
  • Research latent orders and liaise with trading exchanges and venues.
  • Reconcile trades and position breaks.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and respond to emergency situations impacting traders and/or exchanges.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and Technical Services for production support.
  • Interact directly with traders to troubleshoot problems.
  • Participate in application release deployments.
  • Participate in change control procedures for roll out from development to production.
  • Cooperate with System Administrators to assist with forecasting system utilization.
  • Author process and procedure documentation.
  • Participate in and lead projects.
  • Conduct deep dive analysis to determine root cause of technical issues.
  • Provide second level support and mentor other trade desk analysts.

Required Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent practical experience. (MS preferred).
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, including experience in a system’s based financial trading environment or other critical production service environment.
  • Fluency in bash and python scripting languages.
  • Experience with building and managing large scale systems and networks monitoring frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts.
  • Significant experience with systems analysis and troubleshooting for large-scale, complex systems.
  • A strong sense of ownership and urgency.
  • Ability to handle shared operational and periodic on-call duties.
