My Hedge Fund management client is looking for a highly skilled Developer to join their company with a substantial foothold in the London and US markets, reporting directly into the Chief Technology Officer. Being part of a fun, hard-working and driven development team, you will initiate specifications and create bespoke applications.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a developer with a flair for top-class technical problem solving, wanting to join a stellar Hedge-fund, who is willing to work as a team player, carry out tasks given by the CTO to the best of their ability, and also to take the initiative to perform tasks under their own intuition.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team on a range of projects and initiatives, front to back office.
- write code under the direction of the project software development lead, and unsupervised.
- Adhere to company programming standards and test/release practices.
- Ensure the quality of applications delivered to production; support what you build.
- Track and report time spent on all tasks.
Essential Skills
- Ability to communicate, to be able to articulate and explain complex paradigms in simple lay terms.
- Development in C# and SQL server.
- Able to collaborate and communicate with other members of the team.
- The skill to successfully engage in multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously.
- Have a good understanding of the financial markets.
- Have an excellent technical understanding of:
- Structured Design and Software Engineering, especially OO programming.
- Relational Databases.
- Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Operating Systems.
- Networking.
Personal Attributes
- Achieved at least a 2:1 in a Computer Science or related discipline from a top University.
- Must be highly numerate with a passion for programming and computer science.
- Preferably have knowledge of the financial markets and must be keen to learn more about Finance and how the market operates.
- Confident, numerate, self-starter that will be able to hit the ground running’.
- Having an appreciation for good functional design and pleasing user experience would be ideal.
- At ease exploring, manipulating, combining and authoring datasets.
