My client is a leading Hedge Fund based in London. They are looking for a highly creative and innovative individual who is pro-active in identifying ways to improve processes to build out their growing operations team.

In addition to working in a high performing technical team, this is a role with a lot of visibility and the opportunity to add value with various process enhancements/ project work.

In terms of improving daily processes, you will also look to understand the team’s strengths and development areas to help build out the growing team. You will also need a strong understanding of the regulatory space and have the ability to drive some of the MiFID and Emir projects moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the front to back operations process for exotics, including the key elements of confirmations and settlements and reconciliations.
  • Working closely with other areas of the hedge fund to ensure the timely and efficient resolution of queries.
  • Developing new systems and process solutions where gaps are identified.
  • Drive project improvements/enhancements where possible.

Key skills required:

  • A broad understanding of different asset classes; including rates, equity, FX and credit.
  • Previous exotics experience across at least two asset groups with the full trade lifecycle.
  • OTC Experience with exposure to risk and control type elements.
  • Strong managerial background with full involvement in the performance management cycle.
  • Strong communicational and people management skills, as you will be responsible for managing groups of individuals on a regular basis.
  • Proven project work experience, as part of the role will involve moving functions from the front office to the middle office.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills as the role will be facing off to senior stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Exposure to regulatory requirements including MiFID, EMIR and Dodd Frank.
