My client is a global quantitative hedge fund with a market-leading platform for systematic trading strategies. The firm operates a pod-based structure, providing the Portfolio Managers with autonomy, dedicated resources, and access to world-class infrastructure to build and scale their trading businesses.

About the Role

They are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to establish and lead their own trading pod. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in medium-frequency trading (MFT) strategies, with the ability to manage risk and generate sustainable PnL.

My client can consider both independent hires looking to build a team from scratch, as well as established portfolio teams seeking to transition together into a market-leading platform.

Key Responsibilities:

* Build and manage a trading pod within the firm’s systematic trading platform
* Develop, deploy, and refine MFT strategies to deliver consistent alpha
* Take full ownership of risk management, capital allocation, and performance
* Recruit and lead the quantitative researchers, data scientists, and technologists to support pod objectives

Requirements:

* Proven track record as a Portfolio Manager at a buy-side firm (hedge fund, prop trading firm, or similar)
* Demonstrated success with a Sharpe ratio of 2+ and strong, verifiable P&L generation
* Expertise in MFT strategies, with a deep understanding of market microstructure
* Strong risk management and portfolio construction skills
* Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to build and lead a pod/team
