PAI Partners is headquartered in Paris, France, with branch offices located in Munich, Milan, Madrid, Copenhagen, Luxembourg, and London, founded in 1999 with the merger of Paribas Affaires Industrielles and Banque Nationale de Paris in order to manage the private equity holdings of the newly-formed BNP Paribas.
PAI Partners targets controlling equity investments in leveraged buyouts of medium to large-sized public or private companies, with investment amounts generally ranging between 500 million and several billion Euros ($681 million to $4 billion USD).
The firm invests in companies within industry sectors such as financial services and real estate, chemicals, business services, building materials and construction, general industrials, healthcare, consumer products, hospitality, media, and IT/telecom, and draws upon a team of fifty-five investment professionals from a diversity of cultural backgrounds and sector experiences in order to develop transactions within these sectors. PAI Partners manages three active funds, PAI Europe III, PAI Europe IV, and PAI Europe V, with investment sources from over 150 investors from 23 different countries.
Prominent current and previous portfolio companies include dairy products distributor Yoplait, building materials company Monier, British confectioner United Biscuits, and media conglomerate IPC Media.
