Lexington Partners is an independent manager of secondary private equity and co-investment funds. The firm has arranged 15 secondary funds and 7 co-investment pools with USD 20 billion in committed capital. Its investors include pension funds, sovereign investment authorities, insurance companies, financial institutions, endowments and foundations.

Founded in 1994, Lexington Partners has offices in New York, Boston, Menlo Park, London and Hong Kong. The firm also works with advisors located in Australia, India and South America.

Lexington senior investment professionals are backed by team of principals, vice presidents, senior associates, associates and analysts. It has more than 45 professionals having various backgrounds including investment banking, investment management, private equity, public accounting, management consulting, etc.

Secondary Investments

Lexington has completed over 300 secondary private equity transactions of USD 12.2 billion investment commitment. The firm has capitalization of USD 17.8 billion from more than 240 institutional investors from 30 countries. It focuses on limited partnership interests in global Buyouts, Venture Capital, Growth Capital and Mezzanine.

Equity Co-Investments

Lexington has invested USD 2 billion in 98 co-investments. Co-Investment Partners has capitalization of USD 2.4 billion. The firm seeks opportunities from leading buyout sponsors with the transaction size of USD 10 – 100 million per transaction.

Fund Investments

Lexington Partners has been a new fund investor and has committed USD 1.2 billion to more than 200 private equity funds in the United States, Europe and the Asia-Pacific. The sectors include large and mega buyout, small and middle market buyout, growth capital, mezzanine and venture capital.

Some of recent Lexington’s key milestones:

  • Purchase of 20 legacy growth and small buyout investments – USD 90 million.
  • Purchase of 128 private equity interests – USD 1.2 billion.
  • Purchase of 33 interests focused on European middle markets – USD 730 million.
  • Equity commitments of over USD 7.6 billion from more than 200 investors in 20 countries.

Lexington Partners was recently awarded as Secondaries House of the Year at the 10th annual Real Deals Private Equity Awards dinner on April 2011 in London.
